Could it be your very own huggable muse? There's only one way to find out - buy one and give it a hug before you sit down to write. They make great gifts, too.

Reminder: The complete proceeds (that means after CafePress gets its cut) of every purchase from OhDawno's goes to support Absolute Write. If you missed it while it was temporarily shut down and want to help guarantee that it stays around for a long time, please contribute.

It's not necessary to buy from OhDawno's either - there are other great ways to help. Visit Digital Medievalist's list of links for James D. Macdonald's list of "must have books for writers" that you can buy from Amazon. When you buy a book using that page, a portion of the proceeds goes to AW because the link is the Absolute Write Amazon Affiliate link (clever, huh?).

You can also donate directly, using Pay Pal, from the link on Jenna's Blog.

Thanks for visiting. Tell a friend! If you want to subscribe to the newsletter in your email, please put your address in the "subscribe" box in the sidebar. These will be irregular but no more than weekly (it's all CafePress allows) and won't go out if there's nothing worth saying. For that you can visit my blog.

Your Shiny Friend,
Dawno

Link: http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/index.php

Learn Writing With Uncle Jim

The Learn Writing with Uncle Jim thread was one of the real treasures on Absolute Write's forums that numerous people shared great concern about losing forever and for every person that actually posts on a forum or in comments, there are many more who don't post but certainly agree - so I'd be willing to bet hundreds of writers felt the loss and are standing by for the AW site to come back online.

James D. Macdonald (Uncle Jim) has provided a virtual novel writing classroom for anyone who clicks into that thread - you don't have to be a member of AW to read it, you don't have to pay any tuition to become a student there. There is personal interaction with "Professor" Jim as well as the other students. Jim has set out fun assignments and done line by line critiques of student work, as well as well known authors' works - and that's just some of the great information you'll find there. If you want a great Key Lime Pie recipe, that's there too! (and yes, it does relate to writing a novel)

If you're a Learn Writing follower you might want to consider spiffing up your wardrobe with one of the items Uncle Jim personally designed the graphics for. (And I think that's Uncle Jim himself on the front graphic!).

Link: http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6710

The Pledge

Jason Tudor has put up tee shirts and other great items with "The Pledge" he so eloquently posted over on the Refugee Camp board.
